A FEW THOUGHTS ON TODAYS READING...

Romans is unlike all of Paul's other letters, in that at the time of this writing, Paul had never actually been to Rome. All of the other letters were written to places or people that Paul had known. As a result of this, Romans is Paul's most theological book. Rather than correcting specific problems, Paul laid out the gospel message for them and us. This is why this book is often called the Christian Constitution. 75% of Bible teachers said that if they could teach from only one book, it would be Romans. The likes of Augustine, Martin Luther, John Wesley, John Bunyan (writer of Pilgrim's Progress) owe their coming to Christ from this book. We read in Romans 1:18-20, "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,". For me it was in the creation of a human being. If we simply step back and consider any aspect of His creation, you can't miss Him. We read in Psalm 19:1, "The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork." In those days they referred to the first heaven as the sky as we see it during the day, the second heaven would be the sky as we see it at night which now includes the stars, etc, and the third heaven we are unable to see, which is where God and the spiritual world exists. Just read Job 38-41 and you will read of God in His creation in the animal world, etc.

The world is lying to us. They come up with theories, all of which have been proven false, but continue to put them forth as fact. These theories have led to countless numbers of individuals to erroneously exalt the creation over the Creator. Every theory from evolution with Charles Darwin, the Big Bang Theory with Fred Hoyle, the discovery of DNA with Francis Crick, from the author of these theory's own lips has denied their explaining a natural explanation for God's creation. Generation upon generation is blinded to the truth of God. Once we realize our God in creation, we can only respond as Job did after seeing God's creation in Job 42:5-6, "I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees You. Therefore, I abhor myself, And repent in dust and ashes." If you have yet to make a decision to become a follower of Jesus Christ, please take a moment and read each verse in the Romans Road to Salvation: Romans 3:23, 6:23, 5:8, 10:9, 5:1, 8:1, and 8:38-39. Meditate on each step of the road and see where it leads you. I pray that the reality of who we are and who He is will make your decision obvious.

THIS WEEKS MEMORY VERSE

God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear... ~Psalm 46:1-2

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

No man is interested in a piece of good news unless he has the consciousness of needing it; no man is interested in an offer of salvation unless he knows that there is something from which he needs to be saved.
