God didn’t just give Israel a calendar full of holidays for the sake of tradition. The Seven Feasts of the Lord are deeply intentional—each one carefully designed by God to point to key moments in His redemptive plan. They’re like a prophetic timeline woven into Israel’s yearly worship. Far from being random celebrations, these feasts reveal the story of salvation unfolding through Jesus Christ, from His sacrifice to His resurrection, the coming of the Holy Spirit, and even His promised return.
Here’s a quick look at how each feast prophetically points
to a major event in God’s plan for the world:
1. Passover (Pesach) — Jesus, the Lamb of God sacrificed for sin
2. Unleavened Bread (Chag HaMatzot) — Christ’s sinless life and burial
3. Firstfruits (Yom HaBikkurim) — Jesus’ resurrection as the firstfruits of those raised
4. Feast of Weeks / Pentecost (Shavuot) — The coming of the Holy Spirit and birth of the Church
5. Feast of Trumpets (Yom Teruah) — The future rapture and return of Christ announced by the trumpet
6. Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) — Jesus’ atoning sacrifice and our cleansing from sin
7. Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot) — God dwelling with His people and the future Millennial Kingdom
These feasts are more than ancient traditions—they’re God’s prophetic roadmap showing us His incredible plan of salvation through Jesus.
Understanding the Feasts of the Lord as a Christian
"Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, 'The LORD'S appointed times which
you shall proclaim as holy convocations-- My appointed times are these.” – Leviticus 23:2
“This is a day to remember. Each year, from generation to generation, you must celebrate it as a special festival to the Lord. This is a law for all time.” (Exodus 12:14)
“If there are foreigners living among you who want to celebrate the LORD’s Passover, let all their males be circumcised. Only then may they celebrate the Passover with you like any native-born Israelite. But no uncircumcised male may ever eat the Passover meal.” (Exodus 12:48)
For you are not a true Jew just because you were born of Jewish parents or because you have gone through the ceremony of circumcision. 29 No, a true Jew is one whose heart is right with God. And true circumcision is not merely obeying the letter of the law; rather, it is a change of heart produced by the Spirit. And a person with a changed heart seeks praise from God, not from people.” (Romans 2:28)
“And if foreigners living among you want to celebrate the Passover to the Lord, they must follow these same decrees and regulations. The same laws apply both to native-born Israelites and to the foreigners living among you.” (Numbers 9:14)

If the Lord would have us keep the Feast of Tabernacles in the millenial reign of Christ,
do we really think we shouldn't pay attention now?
"In the end, the enemies of Jerusalem who survive the plague will go up to Jerusalem each year to worship the King, the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, and to celebrate the Festival of Shelters (Feast of Tabernacles)."
Zechariah 14:16
